Reiki, (pronounced Ray – key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. It is a complementary therapy, a system of natural healing which evolved from the experiences of Dr Mikao Usui (d. 1926), which aims to heal energy blockages in the body to help achieve physical, mental and emotional balance. It is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows though us, and if this energy is strong, we are more likely to feel healthy and happy. Likewise, if this energy is low, then we may be more likely to feel stress or experience illness.
What it involves
During a Reiki treatment, both practitioner and client may be aware of different sensations which are signs that Reiki energy is flowing, and the client’s body is responding to this. Sensations can include heat or coolness, tingling, sleepiness, a feeling that energy is flowing, and the client may experience heat from the therapist’s hands.

Reiki treatments are holistic treatments, which may bring relief from stress and other conditions. The treatment is very gentle and relaxing, and can help promote a feeling of well-being.

Reiki treatments are relaxing, non-intrusive, holistic treatments. They are given with the client fully clothed, laying down on a treatment couch while the therapist places her hands either gently on or just above the client’s body in a sequence of positions, spending several minutes in each position. Treatments are quiet, gentle and very relaxing.
Treatment vouchers
Each voucher comes in its own gift box, or can be sent as an e-voucher; and can be redeemed for any of the individual treatments currently on offer. Please allow an hour for the appointment.
Vouchers can be collected or posted to you upon receipt of payment. Cost of P&P will be required if posted.
Bank transfer is accepted, and card / contactless payment is available if you collect your voucher from me at The Therapy Shed.
